Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inpatient and outpatient occupational therapy evaluations to identify patient needs and goals
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that improve independence in daily activities
- Document evaluations, progress notes, 10/30s, discharge summaries and other required reports accurately in Meditech
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions including UE ortho and neuro treatments and modality use (e-stim, ultrasound, infrared) within scope of practice
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and facilitate smooth discharges
- Mentor and communicate with COTAs and support staff so patient care remains seamless
- Support unit efficiency by prioritizing caseloads, managing documentation, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapy degree with active Florida OT licensure (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical OT experience (inpatient/outpatient experience preferred)
- BLS certification (required)
- Proficiency with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
- Strong typing and documentation skills to keep timely, accurate charting
- Experience with UE ortho and neuro evaluations and basic modalities (e-stim, ultrasound, infrared) preferred
- Ability to work independently on a fast-paced unit and collaborate with a small team
Education
- Occupational Therapy degree (required) and Florida OT licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in inpatient and outpatient evaluation techniques
- Comfortable with Meditech documentation workflows
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities: e-stim, ultrasound, infrared
- Strong written communication and clinical documentation abilities
- Time management and caseload prioritization in a busy hospital setting
- Team collaboration and interdisciplinary communication
