Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and needs using evidence-based OT evaluations
• Develop individualized treatment plans that promote independence and meaningful participation
• Deliver therapeutic interventions to address ADLs, mobility, cognition, and upper-extremity function
• Collaborate with nurses, PT, SLP and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Document progress clearly and timely, ensuring regulatory and facility compliance
• Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques, and safety
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate referrals for continued care when needed

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in California (current, unrestricted)
• NBCOT (OTR) certification preferred or active state registration
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Experience in rehabilitation or post-acute care settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, patient-centered approach, and teamwork skills
• Ability to provide compassionate care across a diverse patient population

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) preferred
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in OT evaluations, ADL retraining, splinting basics and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Solid documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and patient/family education abilities
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and patient handling techniques
• Comfort working in a fast-paced rehab environment with interdisciplinary collaboration
