Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic treatments and assist therapists in delivering individualized plans of care
• Assist patients with functional mobility, therapeutic exercise, and gait training to improve independence
• Document patient progress thoroughly and communicate changes to the rehab team
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and families to create meaningful rehab goals
• Support safe patient handling and fall prevention initiatives during daily care
• Participate in discharge planning and educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California
• Graduated from an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or available upon hire
• Previous experience in inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required screenings

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques and gait training
• Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic medical records
• Skilled in patient assessment, mobility assistance, and use of assistive devices
• Ability to adapt interventions to meet cognitive and physical limitations
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
