Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow facility care plans
- Support safe transfers and fall prevention measures to protect residents
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team and families to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
- Comfortable and experienced working overnight 12-hour shifts
- Local candidates only as this is a local contract assignment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and reliable attendance
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient hygiene, mobility assistance, and feeding
- Proficient with vital sign collection and basic charting
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay calm in fast-paced settings
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
