Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and document resident conditions accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Help create a welcoming environment — engage residents in conversation, activities, and daily routines
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe care environment
• Collaborate with other care team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
• T-CNA accepted/recognized (as listed) — helpful for facilities that use that classification
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Background check and drug screening clearance
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehab settings preferred but enthusiastic new grads are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills and familiarity with ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Comfortable with basic clinical tasks: vital signs, documentation, and reporting
• Good communication skills — clear, respectful interactions with residents and team members
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts
• Understanding of infection control practices and resident safety principles
• Team-player attitude and flexibility to adapt to facility routines
