Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans and set measurable, patient-centered goals
• Deliver skilled therapy interventions and adjust plans based on patient progress
• Document patient care accurately and timely to meet facility and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians and family members to support coordinated care and safe discharge planning
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to maximize communication and swallowing safety
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute clinical insights to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• ASHA CCC-SLP is preferred or in progress
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic health records
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Previous experience in post-acute, rehab, or inpatient settings is a plus

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of dysphagia and safe swallowing strategies
• Proficiency with speech, language, cognitive-communication and voice therapy techniques
• Knowledge of evidence-based intervention and outcome measurement
• Strong clinical reasoning and documentation practices
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
• Compassionate patient and family education skills
