Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based inpatient nursing care to adults and/or pediatric patients as assigned
- Assess patient condition, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document patient care and clinical observations clearly and thoroughly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning to support recovery
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and unit-based clinical practice improvement
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
- Previous inpatient nursing experience preferred; strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team
- Current, reliable documentation and patient care skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, ASN, or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of inpatient nursing standards, patient assessment, and care planning
- Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Clear, compassionate verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members
- Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation and basic computer skills
- Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice
