Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based inpatient nursing care to adults and/or pediatric patients as assigned
• Assess patient condition, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document patient care and clinical observations clearly and thoroughly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning to support recovery
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and unit-based clinical practice improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
• Previous inpatient nursing experience preferred; strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team
• Current, reliable documentation and patient care skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, ASN, or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of inpatient nursing standards, patient assessment, and care planning
• Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Clear, compassionate verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation and basic computer skills
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice
