Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough speech-language evaluations for older adult residents
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that improve communication, swallowing safety, and overall quality of life
• Document all care and progress accurately using Net Health (training available if needed)
• Collaborate closely with rehab team members, nursing staff, and other healthcare partners to coordinate resident-centered care
• Provide compassionate, professional therapy that supports residents across skilled nursing, personal care, and independent living settings
• Support a positive culture within the therapy department by mentoring colleagues and contributing to problem-solving

Qualifications

• DE SLP license in good standing (required)
• Experience in senior care or working with older adult populations (preferred)
• CPR certification through AHA or The Red Cross (required)
• Two-step PPD / TB skin test within 30 days of start date (required)
• COVID-19 vaccination record or documented exemption (required)
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance (required)
• Comfortable documenting in electronic records (Net Health experience a plus)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; friendly and resident-focused approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Speech therapy evaluations and clinical assessment for adults
• Designing individualized therapy plans and evidence-based interventions
• Skilled documentation practices, particularly in Net Health
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with rehab teams and nursing staff
• Resident-centered care principles and elder-focused communication
• Time management, caseload prioritization, and professional judgment
