Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess students’ speech, language, and communication needs and develop tailored therapy plans
- Design and deliver engaging, evidence-based interventions to help students meet IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and the multidisciplinary team to support student success
- Prepare clear progress reports and IEP documentation to track meaningful student growth
- Provide consultation and strategies to classroom staff to support speech and language access across the school day
- Participate in meetings and help shape individualized educational plans that make a difference
Qualifications
- CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence) — required
- Colorado SLP license — required
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certificate — required (candidates may start with pending CDE)
- Experience or interest in school-based SLP service delivery
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school teams
Knowledge & Skills
- Student-centered assessment and goal-setting
- IEP development and progress monitoring
- Familiarity with common school-based speech and language disorders
- Experience with classroom-based therapy strategies and push-in/pull-out models
- Ability to communicate therapy goals and progress to teachers and families
- Comfort with documentation and meeting school compliance requirements
