Shift Type: Rotating day shifts including weekends; exact start/end times vary by assignment and will be provided by the facility (day/rotating schedule, includes inpatient, outpatient, community and occasional multi-day travel)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and evaluations to identify therapy diagnoses and functional goals
- Develop, implement and modify individualized plans of care that optimize patient outcomes
- Provide skilled inpatient and outpatient physical therapy treatments across a wide range of diagnoses
- Document encounters, progress notes and discharge plans clearly and in compliance with hospital policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—nurses, physicians, case managers—to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Direct and supervise support staff, students or interns and contribute to a learning environment
- Fit and instruct patients on durable medical equipment and adaptive devices for safe home function
- Deliver patient and family education and home exercise programs that encourage independence
- Participate in community outreach, health promotion events and telehealth when appropriate
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, program development and clinic operations
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Physical Therapist license required at time of submission
- Entry-level qualifying Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy, or a Baccalaureate (APTA-approved) plus 2 years of clinical experience and continuing education
- Minimum of 2 years clinical PT experience (or meeting the degree/experience equivalency above)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid driver’s license for travel and community visits
- Must have influenza vaccination and be prepared to submit 2 fingerprint cards at time of acceptance
- Ability to safely lift and assist patients (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity for work in diverse and Indigenous communities
Education
- Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program preferred
- OR APTA-approved Baccalaureate in Physical Therapy with 2 years proven clinical experience and continuing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment, evaluation and development of targeted treatment plans
- Therapeutic interventions across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Durable medical equipment selection, fitting and training patients/caregivers
- Clear, timely clinical documentation and familiarity with billing basics (Medicare/Medicaid/third party)
- Proficiency with computers, electronic health records and telehealth/video conferencing
- Familiarity with APTA standards, regulatory and practice guidelines
- Ability to teach patients, families and staff through education and in-service trainings
- Experience with community outreach, quality improvement and collaborative care
