Roles & Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of residents for the shift, ensuring continuity of care
• Conduct resident/patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Supervise and mentor nursing assistants/CNAs to maintain high standards of resident care
• Manage the environment to promote resident/patient safety and adherence to facility policies
• Follow the State Nurse Practice Act and applicable JCAHO standards in daily practice
• Demonstrate the Villa Way of Kindness and mentor team members in delivering exceptional, compassionate service
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate changes in resident status to the care team

Qualifications

• Active LPN license (Michigan) — must be active at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of SNF/LTC or Med-Surg nursing experience (required)
• BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required)
• Previous travel experience (required)
• Active MI iCHAT account and authorization to schedule fingerprinting (agency requirement)
• Covid vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption is granted
• Ability to float to other units and maintain flexibility with scheduling
• Professional references highly preferred; good work history/resume required

Education

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN) program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident/patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Care planning, implementation, and evaluation skills
• Supervision of nursing assistants/CNAs and delegation best practices
• Resident safety management and environmental oversight
• Familiarity with SNF/LTC and Med-Surg workflows and documentation
• Customer service and mentoring skills to support a positive resident experience
• Working knowledge of JCAHO standards and adherence to facility policies
