Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive orthopaedic care with a preferred focus in hand or foot & ankle surgery
• Perform surgical procedures, including robotic-assisted cases using MAKO technology
• Manage a busy hospital-based outpatient clinic (approximately 25+ patients per day)
• Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team of orthopaedic surgeons and physician assistants
• Provide backup coverage in the 1:4 general ortho call rotation and support PA-first-call model
• Document patient care using Cerner Community Works and maintain high-quality clinical records
• Triage and refer complex multi-trauma cases to tertiary care centers when appropriate
• Contribute to continuous improvement, clinical growth, and a collegial practice culture

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or equivalent) with completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery residency (standard requirement for practicing surgeons)
• Preferred focus or strong experience in hand surgery or foot & ankle surgery
• Comfortable and experienced with MAKO robotic surgical technology and robotic-assisted procedures
• Proven ability to work in a hospital-based outpatient clinic and manage a steady patient volume
• Experience partnering with Physician Assistants and supervising/supporting PA workflows
• Familiarity with Cerner Community Works or similar EMR systems
• Willingness to participate in a 1:4 call rotation and provide collegial backup coverage

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of Orthopaedic Surgery residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Musculoskeletal diagnosis and treatment expertise
• Strong surgical skills specific to hand and/or foot & ankle procedures
• Patient-centered management and outpatient care experience
• Proficiency with MAKO robotic surgical systems and other robotic-assisted techniques
• OR block time management and efficient operative workflow skills
• Understanding of productivity models such as wRVU (familiarity appreciated)
• Effective collaboration and communication within a multi-provider team
• Comfort with Cerner Community Works EMR for documentation and ordering
