Shift Type: Primarily Nights, Rotating 12-hour shifts. Night shift 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; day shift (orientation/float) 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM as needed. Every other weekend and assigned major/minor holidays required.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to acute rehabilitation patients including post-stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputations and complex ortho cases
• Manage ventilatory support needs such as CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care with strong attention to safety
• Coordinate care with PT, OT, Speech and the interdisciplinary team to drive functional outcomes and patient progress
• Perform skilled nursing assessments, documentation in Cerner PowerChart, and timely communication with hospitalist/intensivist teams
• Supervise and collaborate with nurse aides and rehab aides to ensure safe patient handling and efficient workflows
• Respond to clinical changes and escalate appropriately while following unit protocols and 1:5 staffing ratios

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in acute rehab and/or ortho/neuro med-surg
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA or ARC) certifications required; NIHSS required
• Strong, hands-on experience with trach care, CPAP/BiPAP, and acute ventilatory management
• Cerner PowerChart experience preferred
• Rehab certification preferred but not required
• Travel nursing experience is a plus
• Ability to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays

Education

• Active RN license; ADN or BSN acceptable
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of acute rehabilitation patient populations and rehab goals
• Skilled at interdisciplinary collaboration with PT, OT, Speech and rehab aides
• Proficient in electronic charting using Cerner PowerChart
• Excellent assessment and clinical decision-making skills for complex neuro and spinal cord patients
• Comfortable with first-to-float responsibilities to adjacent units including telemetry
• Strong communication and documentation skills
