Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and re-evaluate adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings using evidence-based clinical reasoning
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and home exercise programs that help patients regain function
• Independently manage a full caseload while prioritizing safe, effective care
• Document thoroughly and timely in EMRs (Net Health Therapy and Meditech) to support continuity of care
• Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor insurance authorization timelines and schedule re-evaluations as required
• Provide patient and family education to empower home progress and prevent readmissions

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii state Occupational Therapy license required by the assignment start date (candidates must obtain if not currently licensed)
• BLS (American Red Cross) required
• Minimum 2 years' experience working with adults in outpatient and acute rehab settings
• Experience with Net Health Therapy and Meditech preferred/required
• Comfortable working Hawaii State and Federal holidays as necessary
• Strong communication, documentation, and caseload management skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and re-evaluation best practices
• Treatment planning and home exercise program development
• Caseload management and prioritization
• Understanding of insurance authorization and when to re-evaluate
• Experience in outpatient rehab and acute rehab environments
• Familiarity with EMR workflows (Net Health Therapy, Meditech)
• Collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork and patient education
