Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing accurately and efficiently to support timely patient care
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring quality control standards are met
- Document results and chart in Cerner clearly and promptly to support clinical teams
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and allied health staff to interpret and prioritize lab results
- Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures, including vaccine and PPE requirements
- Participate in unit orientation and continuing education to keep skills current
Qualifications
- Active Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or equivalent (license required to submit)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience (acute care experience preferred)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Experience with Cerner or similar electronic charting systems preferred
- Ability to work night shifts reliably (Wednesday-Saturday, 10-hour nights)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and testing methodologies
- Familiarity with acute care laboratory workflows and priorities
- Experience using Cerner for charting and result reporting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
- Good communication skills for interacting with multidisciplinary teams
