Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, making their comfort a top priority
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Take and report vital signs and any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
• Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
• Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts while encouraging independence
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to deliver coordinated, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings is a plus
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings

Education

• Completion of GNA program or equivalent certification
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic personal care
• Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
• Good observational skills for noticing changes in resident condition
• Clear communication and teamwork to support the interdisciplinary care team
• Basic charting and documentation skills
