Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents and their families
- Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-appropriate) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass facility background checks and any required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the assigned evening shift
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and comfortable assisting with ADLs
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a care team
- Basic charting and documentation skills
