Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning
- Take and record vital signs and observe for changes in condition
- Support a clean and safe environment by following infection control practices
- Document care accurately and communicate patient updates to the nursing team
- Assist with mealtime needs and timely reporting of intake or concerns
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-certified CNA required or able to obtain Maine certification)
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass required background checks, TB screening, and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the assigned evening shift
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer methods
- Knowledge of infection control and personal protective equipment
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Proficient in basic charting and documentation practices
- Good time management and teamwork skills
- Ability to respond calmly and professionally in fast-paced situations
