Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility while preserving dignity
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
- Document care accurately and timely in the facility record system
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure individualized, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable performing patient lifts and assisting with mobility
- Background check and immunizations in accordance with facility policy
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing care techniques and infection control practices
- Familiarity with documentation and charting of resident care
- Strong observational skills to notice subtle changes in condition
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
