Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Take and accurately record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Document care activities and observations clearly and promptly
• Support a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Participate in care planning and collaborate to meet individualized resident needs

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• State authorization or eligibility to practice in Maine (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
• Strong communication skills, compassion, and the ability to work well in a team

Education

• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and mobility support
• Knowledge of basic infection control and resident safety practices
• Ability to accurately take and record vital signs and observations
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and a resident-centered approach to care
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
