Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Assist residents with safe transfers and mobility support to preserve dignity and independence
- Monitor and document resident condition and behavior accurately and promptly
- Follow care plans and communicate changes to the nursing team for timely interventions
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (or ability to obtain) — Maine certification preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working the evening shift hours (2:45 PM - 10:30 PM)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to pass standard pre-employment screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing and personal care procedures
- Knowledge of infection control and safe handling procedures
- Ability to perform and document routine observations and vital signs
- Skill in assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to resident needs
