Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (specific days of week not specified; schedule to be confirmed with hiring team)

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, helping with bathing, dressing and grooming
- Assist with safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Take and document vital signs and routine observations accurately
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents’ dietary needs are met
- Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for residents
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect residents and staff
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- GNA certification (state-required) — active and in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
- Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy (e.g., flu, TB screening) or willingness to comply
- Comfortable working night shifts and providing hands-on resident care
- Kind, patient demeanor with excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification or equivalent credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care needs and dignity-focused assistance
- Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing skin integrity, reporting changes
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Documentation and charting accuracy
- Infection prevention and control practices
