Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff promptly
- Document care delivered and observations accurately and timely
- Support safe transfer and ambulation practices to reduce fall risk
- Work collaboratively with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to deliver excellent resident care
- Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent training
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Comfortable and reliable working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
- Ability to pass facility-required background check and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Basic clinical skills such as vital signs and safe resident handling
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Teamwork and clear communication with colleagues and families
