Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, helping them maintain dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff and families
- Create warm, respectful interactions that promote emotional well-being and a sense of community
Qualifications
- GNA or equivalent Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus
- Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with strong teamwork skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification or state equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, infection control practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
- Familiarity with documentation and care charting processes
- Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition promptly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, resident-centered environment
