Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care for geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and use proper body mechanics when assisting with transfers
• Maintain accurate caregiving documentation and communicate effectively during handoffs
• Help create a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in social activities
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent state nursing assistant credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with elderly populations and assisting with ADLs
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Background check and any facility-required screenings cleared prior to start

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with resident care and ADLs
• Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation skills
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and active listening
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
