Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, supporting activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility with dignity
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to support individualized care plans
- Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Build positive relationships with residents to promote comfort, independence, and well-being
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shift
- Clear background check and ability to pass facility-required screenings
- Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to elders
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and geriatric care needs
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety
- Teamwork, time management, and compassionate communication skills
