Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team
- Accurately document care, observations and resident needs in charts and logs
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to support personalized care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents
- Support group activities and social engagement to enhance resident well-being
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — listed as the class for this role
- Current state registration/licensure as required for Maryland (if applicable)
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience or training in resident personal care and ADLs
- Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling
- Comfortable with documentation and basic charting practices
- Ability to observe, prioritize and report clinical changes
- Compassion, patience and strong interpersonal skills
