Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate basic care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility while promoting resident dignity
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care in resident charts
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
- Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
- Respond promptly to resident needs and call signals with empathy and professionalism
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks, TB testing and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and a team oriented attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident centered care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with hands on personal care and safe resident handling
- Knowledge of infection control and basic safety practices
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Basic charting and communication with clinical teams
- Good observational skills to notice and report changes in resident status
