Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to promote patient dignity
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Assist nursing staff with patient observations and timely, accurate documentation
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Follow infection control standards and facility policies to keep everyone safe
- Participate in shift handoffs and care coordination to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable providing hands-on patient care and assisting with ADLs
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude
- Willingness to work every-other weekend and shared holidays as part of the schedule
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with resident care routines and basic nursing procedures
- Ability to chart accurately and communicate observations to nursing staff
- Patient-focused bedside manner and strong listening skills
- Safe transfer techniques and mobility assistance
- Basic infection prevention and control practices
- Dependable time management and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced care setting
