Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Document care activities accurately and maintain clear, professional notes
• Support mealtimes and safe feeding practices, respecting dietary needs
• Practice infection control and facility safety procedures at all times
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Comfortable with hands-on personal care and respectful resident handling
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA program or state-recognized nursing assistant training

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Skilled in safe transfer and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with documentation practices and care charting
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Ability to prioritize tasks and provide calm, compassionate care under pressure
