Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (2nd / Evening shift); specific days of week to be confirmed by facility
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and mobility
- Monitor resident well-being by taking vital signs, reporting changes, and communicating with the care team
- Support mealtime and feeding assistance, ensuring dignity and nutritional needs are met
- Document resident care accurately and promptly in the facility charting system
- Create a warm, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent nursing assistant credential
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Resident-centered care and ADL assistance
- Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs and observing changes in condition
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Clear, timely documentation and basic charting
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
