Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Support mobility and safe transfers to promote independence and reduce risk
- Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to the nursing team promptly
- Document care accurately and clearly to keep the care team informed
- Foster warm, respectful relationships with residents and their families
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and demonstrating patience, respect, and empathy
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a care team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Resident-centered care and supportive interpersonal skills
- Basic vital signs and observing/reporting clinical changes
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Documentation and charting basics
- Infection prevention, hygiene, and safety practices
