Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Support nursing staff with basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and reporting changes
• Assist residents with mobility, feeding, grooming and bathing while promoting independence
• Document resident care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and family members to enhance person-centered care
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate resident needs

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program and current GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety procedures
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Teamwork and effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
• Empathy, patience, and a commitment to person-centered care
