Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—helping with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Assist nursing staff with routine tasks and report changes in resident condition promptly
- Support mealtime and feeding needs while promoting resident dignity and independence
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety procedures
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team and families
- Participate in resident-centered activities to promote engagement and quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
- Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with personal care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass background check and facility health screenings
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to compassionate care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a certified GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic resident care and ADL assistance
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control practices and standard precautions
- Accurate documentation and care reporting
- Observation skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Warm, patient-centered communication with residents and families
