Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding) with dignity and respect
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff to ensure timely care
- Support mobility and safe transfers to reduce falls and promote independence
- Assist with meal service and observe dietary needs and intake
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
- Uphold infection control and safety standards to protect residents and staff
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to create a warm, healing environment
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care and supporting mobility
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to pass facility-required screenings (background check, TB/health screenings) as applicable
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA program (or equivalent) and current GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: assisting with ADLs, feeding, toileting and mobility
- Knowledge of infection control and standard safety precautions
- Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed staff
