Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding) with dignity and respect
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Support mobility and safe transfers to reduce falls and promote independence
• Assist with meal service and observe dietary needs and intake
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
• Uphold infection control and safety standards to protect residents and staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to create a warm, healing environment

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care and supporting mobility
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to pass facility-required screenings (background check, TB/health screenings) as applicable
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA program (or equivalent) and current GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: assisting with ADLs, feeding, toileting and mobility
• Knowledge of infection control and standard safety precautions
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed staff
