Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults to preserve dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Help with mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs, observe changes and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Follow individualized care plans and document care accurately and professionally
• Support the rehab team at Doctor's Rehab by reinforcing therapy goals and encouraging participation
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection prevention standards

Qualifications

• GNA or CNA certification (completion of an approved GNA/CNA program required)
• Active state certification or ability to obtain Maryland certification as required
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but new grads with strong attitude welcome
• Clear communication skills, compassion, reliability and the ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA/CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic personal care
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact respectfully with residents and families
• Basic charting/documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
