Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility while preserving dignity
- Take and record vital signs and observe for changes in condition
- Communicate resident needs and changes promptly to the nursing team
- Support therapeutic activities and encourage social engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification in good standing
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Able to pass background check and required screenings
- Reliable attendance and a positive, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed GNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered care
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, safe transfers, toileting and feeding assistance
- Infection control and safety practices
- Good charting and documentation habits
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Teamwork and clear communication with nurses, therapists, and families
