Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for geriatric residents
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility with dignity and respect
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Document care and observations accurately and timely in resident records
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, empathetic communication

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient, kind bedside manner
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively in a team-focused setting

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and best practices
• Experience assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic vital signs measurement and safety monitoring
• Accurate charting and documentation skills
• Infection control and patient safety awareness
• Strong observational skills and the ability to escalate concerns appropriately
