Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and grooming
- Support mobility and safe transfers while promoting resident independence and dignity
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team to ensure timely, quality care
- Assist with meal service and monitor dietary needs, ensuring comfort and nutrition
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and care notes to support continuity of care
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create a warm, resident-centered environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent required
- Experience working with geriatric or long-term care residents preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Education
- GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care tasks
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
- Skillful in observation, reporting and basic documentation
- Team-oriented with good interpersonal and time-management skills
- Respectful approach to working with older adults and those with cognitive changes
