Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime and mobility needs, promoting dignity and independence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care activities
- Contribute to a warm, safe environment by following facility policies and infection control practices
- Collaborate with the care team to create a positive experience for residents and families
Qualifications
- Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent (Class: GNA)
- Current state registration or credentials as required by local regulations
- Comfortable working with older adults and supporting ADLs with patience and respect
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player who communicates clearly
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skilled in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Strong observation skills and ability to report clinical changes
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and care teams
- Basic documentation and charting experience
