Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and procedural needs and tailor care plans accordingly
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized peri-procedural nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Administer medications safely, including moderate sedation per protocol, and monitor patient responses
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition promptly
• Provide clear explanations and education to patients and families about procedures and recovery
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care
• Contribute to a healthy workplace by communicating professionally and managing conflict constructively
• Participate in continuing education and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency in moderate sedation and peri-procedural nursing
• Experience in Interventional Radiology, Interventional Imaging, or related peri-procedural areas preferred
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working collaboratively across units
• Familiarity with telemetry, recovery room, and infusion therapy environments is a plus
• Willingness to participate in continuing education and maintain required certifications

• Peri-procedural nursing and recovery room experience
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Patient and family education with clear communication
• Telemetry monitoring and electrocardiology basics
• Experience in ICU, progressive care, or cardiac catheterization environments
