Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents including ADLs with dignity and respect
• Monitor and document resident conditions and report any changes promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility support to reduce fall risk
• Support meal assistance and feeding when needed, following care plans
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Build rapport and meaningful connections with residents, offering emotional support and companionship

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or completion of an approved GNA program
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and required pre-employment screenings
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work night shift

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, safe transfer techniques
• Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
• Strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered communication
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to resident safety and dignity
