Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs are met
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Follow infection control protocols and promote a safe environment
- Engage residents in meaningful conversation and social activities to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- Valid state-required certifications or licensure as applicable
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in geriatric care or long-term care preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused care
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Basic skills in taking and recording vital signs and observations
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Good documentation and time-management skills
