Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote independence
- Take and record vital signs and report changes to the care team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident care and observations
- Create a warm, respectful environment that supports resident dignity
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver person-centered care
- Support infection control and maintain a clean, safe environment
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent as required by state
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant or GNA program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with ADLs
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a recognized GNA/nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and ADLs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Clear, empathetic communication with residents and families
- Good time management and documentation skills
- Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans
