Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
• Perform routine tasks like vital signs, feeding assistance, and safe transfers with proper techniques
• Maintain accurate documentation and care records in a timely manner
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to ensure a safe environment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — you are trained to provide toileting, bathing, feeding, and basic care
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working nights and able to perform physical tasks such as lifts and transfers
• Passion for working with older adults and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, reporting changes, and safe resident handling
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to support residents and staff
• Attention to detail for accurate charting and following care plans
• Ability to prioritize resident safety and infection prevention practices
