Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents and promote dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely in assigned records
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, caring communication
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control procedures
Qualifications
- Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (e.g., TB testing)
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
Education
- GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with resident care and ADLs
- Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Strong observational skills to notice and report resident changes
- Clear verbal communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
