Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
• Perform routine care tasks such as taking and recording vital signs and reporting changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and yourself
• Document care accurately and timely in the chart to support continuity and quality of care
• Support infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Active authorization to practice as a CNA in New Mexico (state registry or equivalent)
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working night shifts (Thursday–Saturday) and functioning independently during overnight hours
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and a teamwork mindset

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA training program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
• Patient hygiene, ADL assistance, and safe transfer techniques
• Accurate and timely documentation skills
• Infection prevention and standard precautions knowledge
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Good interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and families
