Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and behaviors, communicating changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and positioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
- Help create a warm, home-like environment by connecting with residents and supporting social activities
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and coworkers
- Document care accurately in the resident record and participate in shift handoffs
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential; Pennsylvania certification preferred
- Previous experience as a CNA or in direct resident care is a plus
- Comfort with basic clinical tasks such as vital signs, ADLs, and safe resident handling
- Willingness to work a part-time schedule that includes every-other-weekend coverage
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain per facility policy
- Ability to pass background check and meet required immunizations
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong resident-focused bedside manner and patient advocacy
- Knowledge of infection control and standard precautions
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Reliable communication and teamwork with nurses, therapists, and support staff
- Time management skills to prioritize care during a busy shift
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately
