Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and record resident vitals and behaviors accurately and promptly
- Support mobility and safe transfers while promoting dignity and independence
- Communicate resident condition and changes to the care team to ensure continuity of care
- Help create a warm, safe environment by following infection control and facility protocols
- Assist with mealtime and nutrition support, honoring individual preferences and needs
- Document care and observations clearly in the resident record
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Valid state CNA credential for Maine or eligible to obtain
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and professionalism
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the assigned shift
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar setting preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow care plans and facility protocols
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Respectful interaction with residents and family members
