Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care: assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and changes in condition accurately and promptly
- Support nursing staff by following care plans, reporting patient changes, and completing assigned tasks
- Create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Build rapport with residents and families through respectful, attentive communication and person-centered care
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and lift-assist devices when available
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Comfortable providing hands-on patient care and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to embrace the travel assignment with a positive attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven ability to assist with ADLs and support daily care routines
- Strong observational skills for reporting changes in patient condition
- Basic charting and documentation skills, attentive to detail
- Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and staff
- Teamwork mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
